​Locksmiths today are highly skilled tradespeople who can specialise in a range of areas including but not limited to access control, master key systems, lock manipulation, automotive locking systems, safes, camera systems and alarms, door and window architectural hardware.

 

Much of the work is of a mechanical nature however electronics are becoming more and more the norm particularly in the areas of security, alarms and access and control.

 
Locksmithing suits someone who enjoys a level of responsibility, problem solving and working with their hands and is mechanically minded. If this sounds like you then the locksmithing trade could be for you.

Becoming a locksmith is a great career choice, as there has been a skills shortage for many years there is an abundance of work for Locksmiths Australia wide.

Environment

As we are a small team we work closely together all the time, so its important to have a great environment that is fun to work in while allowing people to learn new things.

Not a Locksmith?

Becoming a locksmith does take time, you will need to pass security checks and be of good character. This is assessed during a probation period before an apprenticeship is offered. The apprenticeship usually takes 4 years to complete.
