Locksmiths today are highly skilled tradespeople who can specialise in a range of areas including but not limited to access control, master key systems, lock manipulation, automotive locking systems, safes, camera systems and alarms, door and window architectural hardware.

Much of the work is of a mechanical nature however electronics are becoming more and more the norm particularly in the areas of security, alarms and access and control.

Locksmithing suits someone who enjoys a level of responsibility, problem solving and working with their hands and is mechanically minded. If this sounds like you then the locksmithing trade could be for you.
